N Botha: Timbuktu Manuscripts Exhibition

President Mbeki immediately made a commitment, on behalf of the people of South Africa, to help with the preservation of the manuscripts and the construction of a new library and archives for the Ahmed Baba Institute. The South Africa (SA)'Mali Project Timbuktu Manuscripts was born from this initiative.
